ADesignStudio recently collaborated with Electrolight and Batessmart on the lighting for Whisky Thief, a whisky bar within Prefecture 48. The brief was simple but evocative: create a warm, intimate glow that feels as considered as the whisky list.

We adapted our Roe pendants and table lights with a custom ‘Whisky’ glass tint, bringing a gentle amber warmth to the space. The fittings were positioned to softly illuminate key seating and bar areas, creating a welcoming atmosphere without overwhelming the interior.
A key moment in the project was framing Sabu Karu, a striking artwork by Chris Horigo. The Roe lights were arranged to highlight the piece and subtly echo its tones, turning it into a focal point within the bar.

This project shows how small, tailored adjustments, like a custom glass tint, can transform familiar forms into something site-specific and atmospheric, helping a venue tell its story through light.
